Unless you want to go to the trouble of doing what i did and use the 3m marine 4000 uv caulk which from my research is about the best you can use, the locally available proflex is about the best you can do based on what i have read. I can't get anything to stick to those plastic tub surrounds except lexel. Make sure that you use 100% silicone that is mildew resistant.you could probably try some dow corning but that may be hard to find.i used to caulk for a living and dow 100% silicone is what we used in hospitals,schools and such.

I think it was $4 per tube when i bought it last. Takes a few hours to work but it breaks down silicone and you can just wipe it off. The secret to any good sealant use is weight.
When i started out i did my mums shower with it, the ultra expensive £12 a pop, power shower proof anti mould, anti fungal all singing all dancing etc. For painting a siliconized acrylic caulk is usually best but for caulking areas that tend to get wet you are usually better off with a full silicone caulk [not paintable] imo a color matched [or close] caulk would look better than clear. It can also be used if there are cracks around tubs or showers.

I just used a silicone that is mold resistant in our shower and i hope it does as well as described.
